Harry Dixon - New South Wales

After an early exit from the SIC Harry Dixon will this weekend embark on yet another mammoth world wide trip. This time around, destinations include Europe, the US, and Mexico. Also, on his journey Hez will compete at the World Tour events in Portugal [Sintra Pro] and New Jersey [Jenks Pro]. Check back regularly for updates and images from his travels.

Frustrated with his First Round defeat in the Challenge, Michael Novy has been hanging out on the New South Wales Central Coast and filming with the Waldron Bros. for their highly anticipated follow up film to Raised Heights and Vague Opportunities. Novy will return to his home and study on Queensland's Sunshine Coast next week following a hefty stint on the road.

Nick Ormerod - First Round SIC Image courtesy of Human

The First Round of The Human Shark Island Challenge was completed yesterday in clean 4 to 6 foot conditions at the infamous Cronulla Reef. Congratulations go to UNITE. team rider Nick Ormerod after taking out his First Round heat and moving through to the Quarter Finals. Novy and Hez were unlucky not to go through to the Quarters, both placing third in their First Round heats.

Other riders progressing through the First Round were Ben Player, Doug Showell, Alex Bunting, Brae Pettiford, Mitch Rawlins, Dave Ballard, Ryan Hardy, Andrew Lester, Sean Vitue, Rissole, Hubb, Guilherme Tamega, John Showell, Dave WInchester, and Josh Kirkman.

First Round upsets included 2000 SIC Champion Mike Stewart, 2001 Champion Kingy and regular Challenge place getter Toby Player.

The Human Shark Island Challenge Trials were held in Cronulla this past weekend. All three of our team riders competing -
Harry Dixon, Nick Ormerod and Michael Novy - have qualified for the main event being contested throughout the month of July. Three outta three ain't bad.

The Human Cronulla Shark Island Challenge is Australia's, if not the world's, most prestigious bodyboarding event. The location is Australia's most premier bodyboarding location, Shark Island, known for its big barrels and heavy wipe outs. The Human Cronulla Shark Island Challenge waiting period commences 6th July and continues through to July 31st. Good times ahead.

Harry Dixon and Michael Novy both faired well in the annual Rush Online Magazine Readers Poll. Ryan Hardy topped the list of big names in the Big Wig category - Best Pro Bodyboarder.

Also, in Best Aussie Rider, Hez ended up in 8th position no doubt damaging a couple of egos along the way. Rawlins finished up on top. Novy was runner up in the highly contested Best Rookie class with good mate Thomas Robinson taking the top honors.
