This year marks the 15th anniversary of Todd Quigley at QCD Boards shaping foam. Yep, he started knocking out boards way back in 1997!
To celebrate the milestone Todd is making 15 exclusive hand shaped boards for 15 lucky customers. “Each of them will be all black with their choice of slick colour, old school deck and slick logos along with purpose placed contours,” Todd explains.
“The boards will be hand signed and come with a limited edition tee and be part of a commemorative look book. We’ll be filming the creation of each board and each owner will have a credit in the lookbook and on the video. The whole concept of The Fifteen is to create and celebrate the custom shaping process and it’s relationship to the rider.”
So, how much are these puppies? The good news is that they’re only 380 bucks (plus postage and handling), but the only way to secure yourself one is by phone. First in best dressed, call Todd now on (02) 4365 5584 and get yourself a piece of bodyboarding history!
Just when you thought you’d seen it all, a young Tahitian by the name of Tahurai Henry throws himself into the bowels of a Teahupo’o monster, reigniting passion for paddle-in surfing and providing one of the best Riptide covers of the year.
Issue 189 leaves no stone unturned, with new wave discoveries, obscene angles, the latest and greatest in booger news and a hypnotic Stare Gallery. Riptide gets inside the mind of one of the sports most intriguing characters Nick Gornall, talks grommet abuse with Todd Glaser and hears from legend Steve MacKenzie.
That’s not all. Matt Young, Chris James, Damien Martin, Matt Lackey, Cade Sharp and Nick Bannehr stalk Southern Ocean swells from Sydney to Perth, while a pair of Aussie adventurers rendezvous with a band of South Africans to share the longest barrels of their lives.

Then there’s the rest of the content that you usually find in every issue all packed into 200 pages, squeezed between two hard covers. It’s all available at a newsagent or surf store near you, go get it.
